The following is probably the craziest, most absurd, and hilarious thing anyone on these forums has done for fg.

Last night I got bored and decided it would be fun to host a contest with a prize of 16 fg. Basically people run around the campfire in rogue camp until they get bored and stop. The last man standing will win the fg. Simple enough right?

Heres the thread I created from last night:
http://forums.d2jsp.org/index.php?showtopic=18149339&f=169&st=0

Heres a rounddown of the events:
-The Game started at 2:45 am EST with 7 players.
-The field was soon whittled down to only 3.
-About half an hour into the game, I began to temp the contestants into giving up by offering items. First an um rune, then a templars might, then a +3 blizz ormus.
-I then realized that these guys were really dedicated to winning and began to increase the prize for the winner. What originally was only 16 fg increased to 20, then to 25, and then to 30.
-The field was then down to only two players as the third contestant tripped up and accidently minimized the window. Contestant #3 Aronas decided to stay in the game however, to keep me company as well as see who would win in the end. He ended up staying until 5:00 am.
-I also took periodic breaks, not only to ensure that no one was using some type of autoscript, but also in hopes that one of the contestants would not make it back in time and thus lose the competition.
However my attempts at forcing the game to end were futile and the two players kept on going.
-At about an hour and forty five minutes into the game, I began to offer fg for one of the players to drop out. The prize was also increased to 58 fg. None of the two remaining players chose to accept defeat, and stayed in the game.
-About 2 hours in, I made my final offer. If one of the players were to drop out and accept second place, I would offer him 45 fg... with the winner getting the 58 fg. Still none of the two contestants accepted this offer.
-In my last ditch effort to have the game end (by this point I was sleep as hell, 5:00 am est), I warned the players that no more 2nd place prizes would be given, no more talking would take place, and no more breaks would occur until one of the players stopped moving. I implored on of them to take the 2nd place consolidation prize of 45 fg and call it a night. They both refused.
-I hunkered down, took a caffeine pill, and sat staring at my computer screen for the next hour to see which of the players would give in to the boredom. At 6:04 am EST, after an hour of nothing but moving in a circle around the campfire, the two players reluctantly agreed to split the prize and get some sleep.
-The Game lasted more than 3 hours, from 2:45 AM EST to 6:04 AM EST

Below are the screenshots that I took for this event:
(I changed chars several times during the event, bring in items on different mules to temp these guys, and to make some trades)

Here are the profiles of the two winners:

My Final Thoughts:
Wow.... what some people do for fg right? I just want to congratulate these two players on winning and lasting 3 grueling hours. They truly showed determination, an iron will, and hearts of champions. Not only were they playing to win the 58 fg, which I think they desperately wanted, but they were also playing to win. I would now like to take this opportunity to implore that the d2jsp community donate as much fg as they can to these two fine gentleman, for their heart and determination. Once again, I would like to thank the winners, Middysreturn and Blum_TFM, for their gutsy performance last night.
