The level cap has been raised to level 100: players will only be allowed to reach this level through an uber area located on Mt. Arreat after recieving new quest instructions from Korlic, Madawc, and Talic to retrieve legendary scrolls from the Henknoc Jungle, the Val Narian Plains, and the Retreating Shores. Only players that have reached level 99 may activate this quest and embark upon it meeting a dozen new monsters and opening many new areas. Taking the three scrolls to Mt. Arreat will take you to the skies to face otherworldly evils, and after reaching level 100, players' skill will be reset, a new appearance for each class is unlocked, and a special prefix will be given to players that have proven their worth to the world of Diablo. Full details of the the new patch will be released shortly and we plan this last major content patch to link Diablo II with our upcoming Diablo III title.
