Not sure if people actually know this or used it.

Your character starts off with 8 Inventory Slot spaces, you can actually lock items in order so they do NOT get moved around.

Example: For 8+ years I have been holding my EES items in my first 3 Slots in the order of Weapon / Armor and Charm ... at higher levels I may put Life Regen items next to the first 3 in the same order of Weapon / Armor and Charm ... and these items are LOCKED (well... WERE.)

You could do this for the Maximum Inventory slot spaces you had, as for items added to the inventory by way of using the EES gear, they would get shuffled around.

Now I have to RESET my EES gear in my first three(3) slots, and also if I am holding EES gear as well.

This may not seem to be an issue for some, but in the past, people have trashed or shrined items because their location got moved around and they all cried about it, luckily I won't have that problem since I am aware of it.

Always look at the item stats before you shrine or trash an item and make sure it is the correct item you want to trash/shrine. To be extra cautious put your super valuable items in your vault.

I’m not seeing a huge importance in locking items into a designated slot on your inventory.

You are OFFTRACK Cartrack... I am talking about the position of the items in the inventory slots NOT switching ... if you have 8 slots, the first 8 slots are LOCKED items in their position, and if you completed Maze and Treasure Pest objectives, your Maximum inventory slots were LOCKED position of items.

Now, since I have 3 items with EES in the first 3 slots, and my inventory is full, BUT I want to pick up items from the Drop box, I switch to EES item(s) to pick it(them) up, and, since those items are outside of my Maximum inventory slots, they may change position... I don't (DON'T) need to look at them because they are normally shrines, and I Vault or transfer any good items immediately.

You get that? No... you want more explanation? Well let me know.

So let me get this straight. Your complaint is that when you have all 8 slots filled on a mule that isn’t wearing anything, and you put on the ees gear which is located on your first 3 slots, when you close out the inventory and re open you want those first 3 slots to remain empty and all the other items remain in their place and not shift or change locations?

Off-track.

Maybe I should say it this way:

Start at level 1 to Master Quest, Equip your normal gear, have 3 EES items in main slot (in a specific order). You clear multiple catacombs, your inventory is full, then you switch to EES gear because you want to pick up something from the kill before going to town and your Vault maybe (MAYBE) full.

Now let's say you log out, come back to game the next day and re-log back in ... then you have to find your EES gear that has changed location *(in your inventory) and re-set them.

Note: I have used this method for basically 8+ years, it helped me when I never had a vault and I held onto my gear in my inventory from level 1 to level 25, then hold up to MQ gear. (this meant I did NOT have to switch to mule every 10 or 15 levels to update my equipment and stay in the catacomb to complete objectives or catacomb). And now that I have a Vault, it comes in handy still when it gets full and I can not find a Well to clear it out a bit, and of course the inventory is full of whites again.

In the past, they never changed location, now they do, and every time I have to hunt them down if my inventory is over-flowing, or near full... again, this only happens when I log off. inb4GameWorksAsIntended.

Ok I’m following you now. Thanks for the explanation. Personally, I don’t change around my gear often so this has never been an issue for me. I can’t say the same for others.
