Are they timed or do they get a roll and have X number of uses before disappearing?
I had two on my current map earlier (I’m on mobile) and left them behind because I ran out of white items. Quit playing for a while and came back later and the symbol on the map was gone. Are they still there?
I’ve come across them before and thrown one item in and they poofed.
I also had one show up on the very last tile of the map the other day so I went to town and got some whites out of my vault and when I came back I was on a new map.

They do have a certain amount of uses.
If youre on the same cata as your well was, and moved away from it, and closed your tab or whatever and came back to SAME cata, yes the icon can go away but the well should still be there
Some wells last longer than others
If you fully explore a cata/map, to keep your well you have to spawn a monster. Otherwise leaving the cata will reset it.

1- I was told once that a well can have 1-20 uses. idk if that's true

2- sometimes, idk why (i think it happens when you get disconnected "1006 problem etc" )... the blue dot of the well may disappear on the map, but if you visit that specific room it will apear again (at least that happened to me everytime)

3- so far never happened this me, idk what to say

4- is what Light_Prince very well said. IF you are on pc, for future references, while in the catacombs: you can open your vault pressing "V", so you don't even have to go back to town. If you are on the phone, idk if there is a way of doing the same (i think nope)

wells can have over 100 uses, certainly had a few myself over the 40 mark, there was a guy who did some research and used wells until they blew up, over 60% of them were under 10 uses but as i said some were over 100

if you're on an actual map with +x wells and it's fully explored, you'll need to throw something into the well to then return to town, as you cannot whistle on maps.


1 item wells are the most common well imo. about 10% of them seem to be this

Seems like on average I get 15-20 tosses per well but I have 0 data on this.

I would say my average is <10 on the absolute high point.
