Helpful little tips I can suggest:
1. Wear sunscreen but only from the nose down and make sure to wash your hands well so you don’t accidentally wipe sunscreen on your face
2. Bring 5 or more of those little energy gel packets. They help more than candy, bread, bananas, or anything else imo.
3. Hydrate before and definitely during. Don’t skimp out on any water station and some you will need to drink 2 x water or Gatorade and water. Saw at least 20 people dehydrate and were stuck on the side of the road with medical people helping them out.
