I started slasher this week. Awesome game, so excited to be playing. I had many questions about maps and have not found clear answers to some of them.

At the end of a cata, you get some maps:

1. What are the parameters of the level req of the maps that can drop?

2. I just finished a cata, there were 2 maps, as I was reading them (within like 5 seconds of seeing them), they just disappeared. Normal?

When you use a map:

1. Does the required level determine the difficult of monsters / tier of the loot?

2. Can you find wells in a map? Are there other differences between a map and the cata zone?

Selling maps:

1. Do these trade well? Should I post threads for maps?

2. What map properties / types are more valuable?

1. Whatever level you were exploring it i believe

2.yes wells can be found in maps. no difference, just places you already explored in a map won't spawn monsters

As stated, maps disappear quickly. The only way to have more than 1 copy drop at the end of a cata is if you STARTED the catat (entered without moving) with more than 1 person. Then you get one map per person who started. Regardless if they stay.

Well maps, specially are low tiers (1,2,3,4) are valuable. Generally between 40-50fg per well per copy.

EP maps of higher tiers are worth good fg if theres plenty of EPs on it. Coupled with monster difficulty, they will sell even better.

not true on the 1 copy, i've had 3 drop from random group explores which started with 1x.
The only way to guarantee 5 drop is to wait for full group and do full explore with all 5.


This is dependant on the tile you finished on, if mobs spawned on the last tile, the timer is already running which as you say is around 5 seconds.
If mobs did not spawn on the last square, they stay until you begin whistling, start moving or return to town.



Wells can ONLY be found in maps with the +well modifier.

i was just going on experience, ive never started a cata by myself and gotten more than 1 map at the end. I didnt even know that was possible lol

This is untrue, as I just had a map appear at the end of my cats, no mobs spawned and map still left after 5 secs, I never whistle and was no need to engage as no mobs spawned

also confirmed, thanks for info, it used to stay around forever, obviously got changed at some point
