How do fishing poles work?

My proficiency is lvl 1, but I can use a lvl 5 rod....I can't use a lvl 35 rod though, even tho it appears blue and not red like the lvl 55 rod in my inventory..i can put the lvl 35 rod in the box for fishing,, but it doesn't let me cast it...

How do fishing poles work and fishing work. Can I change the level to cast for better fish instead of level 2 fish too?? So confused...

Yes you can change the level of fishing in the box, but you can only go so high before you wont catch anything. Or itll just be too hard/line snaps, etc

You can use a level 5 rod at that level, but the results may not be as great as using a tier 3 or 2.

What's max lvl poke I can use if my proficiency is lvl 1? Lvl 2? Etc... what determines max lvl pole I can use?

you can rank up to lvl 2 fine with just no rod at all, or the term is "loaner rods"

its good practice and wont lose a rod while you get the hang of it
