ive been plagued with the 1006 error/disconnects for the past week; typically about 5-8 an hour while on slasher. i typically dont get them often, but this past week has been horrible. I know this has to do with cloudflare and the gaming websocket connection. I found a post way back in 2020 concerning this and it references it has happened since the re-write of LS back in 2020. we never had this issue prior.. only since the rewrite have we had this issue, why hasnt it been focused on and fixed?

I initially thought maybe it was my cache handler for chrome that was triggering it to be more frequent, however after monitoring it, it wasnt the case. I switched internet providers and upgraded my service, no difference. tried LS in different browsers ( IE, Edge, Firefox, Opera ) no difference.


... The reason i am bringing this up again.... i just almost had a 1006 disconnect rip on hc.. some have said its not possible now with the implementation of cloudflare; so to those; please explain to me how i spawned a single mob (with almost full health), got hit with a massive lag spike ~ 10 seconds later 1006 disconnect, and when the screen came back i was down to 32 health, in town, and my equipment inventory was reset leaving my character nude (items in inventory, not worn).

just curious as to if anyone has found a solution? or has a solution to offer to not get the 1006's?

Agreed it has been worse lately. Got 1006 around 5 times in a climb last night. As the healer, coming back to the whole team half dead, slightly concerning.

I have been play sc more now because of this tbh. Disconnect to 1006 never know if you will be dead or not. I don't really play much anymore because I can't enjoy hc as much without all the random disconnections.

Lots of them lately

i havnt gotten many DC's but i do get SUPER laggy at times. Lots of delays. And its only ladder slasher, nothing else.

I also feel that it has been worse lately than the usual. It would be nice to finally do something about it, especially for hc players.
Def been playing less due to it.
Ladder slasher is the only game that I have issues with "lag" or random disconnects.

I feel if Paul were to investigate and fix the problem, A LOT of players would return to LS; moreso HC..

I played a bit of sc when i first started oh so many years ago, but found that i enjoyed the challenge of HC more.. ( to NOT RIP).. granted ive had a few situations where i have ripped ( my own fault, a lag rip years back, and earlier this year; a rip due to being "cata locked" from 3x ep stunners).. yeah ive lost gear and chars that are still showing on the ladder. Im still grinding away even with the diminishing numbers on HC.



reading and looking into it myself the reasons behind the 1006's could be any of the following;

~ websocket error in coding right at cloudflare
~ VPN lag?
~ overloaded network servers/switches
~ old servers (needing upgrades or replacement)
~ a virus somewhere within the jsp network/servers
~ ISP throttling

could be many other reasons behind it but needs investigation..


i know i had mentioned an idea way back that sc/hc should have their own dedicated servers, so if for example someone resets on sc, it would not affect anyone on hc. would also alleviate server load between the cores on a single server.


for me; this lag and constant 1006's is SOLELY on jsp/ LS. i get no lag while downloading/uploading torrents, or any other site/game online. i have fibre 1.5Gb connection now and havnt had any issues on any other site since upgrading to it a little over a year ago.

For example: An hour ago i had zero lag/delay playing LS. Now, theres a nasty lag/delay while im playing. Wtf is going on.
