Okay so I use a Club on my barbarian....

I keep seeing that its the "least desired" heavy weapon.

Can someone enlighten me as to what I should switch to? (I know im under geared, trust me)

Axes are the best? WHY?

There isn’t really a best or worst weapon

Clubs just aren’t as desired because they can only be used on starting class and paladin.

If you want to climb every class in the game, clubs aren’t typically the best choice

However for a lot of players this doesn’t matter because it can takes 100+++ mqs to unlock headhunter in the season, the only class you NEED axes for. So unless you’re planning on doing a shit load of mqs each season before reset, I wouldn’t worry about getting axes :)

Club is not a heavy weapon. Clubs are generally not well liked because they can only be used on feeder classes and paladin. Axes are supposedly the best due to their high chance to crit (from what I've heard) but I personally haven't done the tests so I'm not fully sure. They are also liked because with an axe set and a dagger set you can complete all melee classes.

Arguably Clubs/dagger are the best weapons as they make the best use of base stats, only beaten by warhammers/spears and potentially poles/longswords seeing heavies do deal more damage in general.

Can put the numbers through the damage calc: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1RDkoYfhQSyWW0KNRYTAWZRLxVfeYGgj-nwqOwtgtSOs/edit#gid=0

The "best" way to get full gear from feeder through warlock is:
Axes + Daggers + dex gear + warlock gear.

This is the simplest way of getting to the end goal without offcasting.

The next closest without using heavy weapons (which are so uncommon getting full sets is difficult) is:
Swords + Staffs + axes + warlock gear + dex and str gear OR
Clubs + Daggers + axes + warlock gear + dex and str gear

For the main issue is the class headhunter, who absolutely must use axes, as he can't use anything else.

If you never reach headhunter or are able to borrow from guild members a set of axes, then you can completely ignore this requirement.

Due to this alone a 200 ee club is worth in the region of 5-6k, a 200 ee axe is worth around 30k+

So its nothing to do with damage, but to do with usability on a headhunter.

Hope this makes sense

just fyi, the damage calc's critical hits are currently only correct for daggers/clubs. Was noticeably very off for some of the other weapons as i just simply do not have any data on staffs/swords/axes yet.

Thank you all kindly for the VERY helpful information. I appreciate it. I am almost level 70, so maybe i can unlock a new character soon.

Only would like to add something that people usually won't consider, but is totally viable:

Swords+axes+str gears(hh useable)+warlock gear(can be used for monk)

With the current meta, could be the cheapest way to be effective with all classes.

not quite the case as you'd specifically need offcast gear on the monk or at the very least melee gear to level 20.
Offcasting a monk with warlock gear for levels 1-20 isn't really an option due to the immense intelligence difference. Can usually get away with it level 30+ and level 20-30 being whether or not you're willing to use fish.

Good advice though and certainly an option, at level 1-20 melee gear is usually very cheap.

Even when melee'ing 1-20 with a monk you can still heal whilst going full intelligence in preparation for offcasting.
Usually better for groups, as offcasting anything before level 30 in solo is generally absolutely awful.

Weapon ratio's mean 90/10 weapons hit the hardest. Those weapons are actually the cheapest because they are used by the fewest classes. (Club & Stafff) (Club & Dagger) -Thanks for correction Newb

You can do all the melee classes with just a set of dagger & axes, using the same armor & charm set for both weapons (dex robes & dex lite/wild charms.) Most people prefer to go that route since they not only can own fewer gear sets (investing in and storing fewer sets) but also consolidate their prof gains to those two types.
