I don't mean like wait until good map features, seems like a good one now, or to do a rogue type class. I just mean like there will be a huge room then a bunch of paths leading off, atm I try to go just go one direction and then come back but usually I get stuck. Maybe just do the room first, then go down a path, etc..? Not sure any tips ??

If you hate teleportation simply make small breaks there is no tips for it honestly.
You just have use rogue to finish it so you don't fall through a trap doors simply.

Or ask a ladder slasher expert join your game so he drives if you are tired.

Get to know people who wanna play with you and do 50-50 or so it gets more fun etc.

It all depends on gears u use the more time you play the better geared you get .

Heh that's cool didn't know people joined up. I was just thinking I'm being less efficient than I should be lol. Ty :)

The hotkeys speed you up a lot. G to engage I think.

i usually run around for about 10-15 mins until i hit a dead end, if the map is looking super zigzaggy with no rooms, i would log out and reset the map. rinse and repeat.

Yeah agree with this, do not under estimate a bad map lol. Trying to finish a map that’s zig zaggy and lots of dead ends might end up being like 10x the time Compared to a more open one

As people stated, there isn't a good, fast way to clear a catacomb (each time I see the word map, I think of a maze created using a Map) There is a difference, backtracking on a map created maze = no monster spawns, every step new step you take = an encounter.

Anyway... this is what I do.

Fully explore any / all catacombs @ level 1 to level 25... I may try to clear a catacomb if I have created it @ level 25 (30), depending on the Event modifiers... No Trapdoors / Less Spins.

When I am clearing the catacomb maze, I only go forward until I hit a deadend, turn or go back to the next open area, repeat... go forward without turning off that path even if there are any. Clear what is the smallest deadend I can reach and hope I don't get spun / teleported back there. (This is just how I do it, others have their own ways... reason why I don't turn off before getting to the end... because each turn has a chance to spawn monsters, so no need to make the trip longer).

Oh, I also do as others do when at higher levels ... leave game and create a new game... this is also good for Evil Presence hunting when you have to back track a lot.

Oh, there is the /set easy 1 command to use when you want to back track a large area, and when you get to the open area, use /set easy 0 command to deactivate ... this is only good for solo'ing.
