Hi everyone, I am not well versed with magicians and am looking for a good guide.

What skills do you all prefer and how many points into vitality do you use? Thanks!

It all really depends on gear, but I like to go:
Until level 10 all int
Put 15 points into vit
Go int agin until like 40ish
Then you probably want at least base 50 vit, but again depends on gear

For skills on magician I like (assuming solo)
Even amounts of piercecast powercast pillarcast

Everyone is different, and it really comes down to (IMO of course) your gear setup, and your prof.

For me, i dump all my starting points into vita, idk if thats needed at low levels, but just in case. Maybe aim for like 60-70 total vita, without sneaky. Just because i like to have life. Then everything else into Int.

For skills, again everyone is different. I like using the warlock Double cast, and power cast. It may just be me, but i think casting builds up abilities faster than melee. And i just like to be able to hit all targets as much as i can, as opposed to soloing with column/row attacks.

But again, its a learning thing. No one persons stat/skill setup will work for everyone, cuz almost everyone plays differently.

As stated, everyone is different and items are the issue. As for myself:

Melee from level 1 to 25 (or 35), then switch to casting gear because I would stat Vitality early so that I have an abundance of Hit points when it is needed the most since I would be using Robe with +Int and most normally 0% enhanced effect.

I would stat to 75 base minimum Vitality for SC solo'ing, 50 base minimum Vitality for Group Run on Softcore. As for Hardcore, I would do 100 base minimum Vitality. Then rest on Intelligence and of course, use +Int Weapon / Armor and Healing charm on main and Casting charm in Acc slot (Solo) ... as for group, Cast on Main and Heal on Acc Slot (this also depends on the mods).

Solo: Power Cast + Salvation (no third ability)
Group: Multi Cast + Power Cast ... let someone else be healer.

Just my way, again different to some others.

EDIT: oh, work on your heals / cast charms and +30(+) Int minimum Weapon / Armor ... hopefully you find items, or buy for cheap. Oh, EE staffs are cheap as, so don't worry too much about the earlier level items.
