Why not just let us see the monsters, treasure chests, and trapdoors while he's at it.
It goes against the style of the game, go back and play some old-school Wizardy (NES) and you will see why.
If memory serves me correctly, the only thing you will see is doors. Hell. You didn't even get a map, you had to draw that shit out as you explored.

On topic: Yes. I would like for it to stay visible after discovery also, but that's just a minor cosmetic. I normally leave an unexplored piece next to it if I can

Oops my bad on the double post

My original Zelda game from Nintendo came with a paper map I folded many times and used daily as I went exploring every map section and searching for hidden caves……

Well this isn't the early 90s.

Why can we see a wall 2 steps ahead but not the well?
If we could see the chests too that would make sense. But it also could mean new styles of trap
Almost like a mimic in dark souls.

We don't have to relive the past constantly. Those games have a nostalgic place in my heart. But let's at least try to be progressive here.

Lol, let's be progressive? We are talking about a 2d dungeon crawler that's at least 15 years old now. Progressive is picking up any other game made in the last decade.
You cant see a well, bc the game hasn't decided if a well will be there or not yet. Its a pretty simple concept to understand, you've been around more than long enough to know this

What's the point of anyone even making a suggestion? You seem to want to play the same game forever. Progressively evolving a game over that period of time and making suggestions like these just promote the playability. The trades and market aren't going to flourish at this pace. That's like saying. Don't release the new rune words for diablo. Everyone should just play classic.
