Has probably been suggested/asked in past, but figured worth a shot...

everyone has probably at 1 time or another wished dropped items can last/be shown for longer times (maybe because were just slow, got distracted, or simply had too many items to look at and didn't have the time to see every item b4 it disappeared forever; or see an item/stats and decide you want it only to be too late to click on it, or make space to pick it up b4 it's gone forever)

new setting option could be added in the esc tab options... and while at it, could also allow people to set lvl range and magic range of what shows up to help not clutter screen with items people don't want
"general settings" "keyboard config" "Vault categories" "Drop settings"

For solo this shouldnt be an issue seeing drops remain on the screen until you click engage or return to town, so in theory you have as much time as you want.
The only exclusion to this is if you're solo whistling, where obviously you wont wait after each wave of mobs, you keep spamming the engage hotkey or when exploring and fighting normal mobs, in general these drops are mostly crud anyway, if you're using high ML then you might be looking a bit more closely, even then, the only occasion of missing something i would have liked to have picked up is when running around with full inventory.

My personal opinion is we have enough time but for the purposes of this debate i wouldnt be worried if people wanted increased timers, so voting banana as i'm not worried if this is a setting in options, i would leave it as is.

Drops sit forever until you start the clock by engaging or spawning the next wave.
The driver in your group is in control.

There are cases where the game autos spawns a new wave (Hack the Horde etc.) where the clock starts when new wave spawns.

My only issue is that map drops spawned by completing a maze have the clock started automatically if mobs spawn on that square.
This annoying and could be easily fixed.

edit:
I see no harm in allowing players to have control over the time limit within a reasonable window.
Up to say 10 seconds once the clock is started.
Capping the max number of items shown does not make sense however.

thinking mainly for group climbs where the group kills and whistle so fast that some items go unseen or unconsidered. I mainly solo and not too active but have seen multiple examples of people barely seeing an item they want but are unable to pick it up before rapid repeated whistle spawns the next mob and the item disappears (whether it be a good item everyone kicks themselves for missing, or ones for profs). as a result, i feel i have also seen and notice some people fix this by focusing more on the item drops than killing and clicking slower, slowing whistle speeds, or over picking items up and needing to frequently trash the rejects/mistakes that someone else might have wanted for profs.
