Two different ways, if they're in the same guild, they can use a transfer.

Otherwise they agree to a price on the forum and a time to meet then just complete the transaction on the marketplace.
It's generally bad manners to just immediately dump the item on the market at the price agreed on, as this allows others to potentially buy the item instead of the guy who made the offer on the forum

well, it's not necessarily sniping if they haven't checked the forum.
given it's a rarity that sellers post the item when the buyer isn't ready, pretty much all the items on the market are there to be bought.

However most of the items on the marketplace are generally overpriced, otherwise they'd have sold. As some examples:
Level 45 club with 103 ee, is worth about 150-250, is on the market for 600
Level 55 club with 104 ee, is worth about 200-300, is on the market for 800

In general you can get much better prices on the forum than just searching the market, there is sometimes a good buy on there, as an example the lvl 35 club with 121 ee is probably worth the 350 asking price.

Not everyone has the time to put all their finds on the market or to keep them refreshed (need to "refresh" the price of an item on the market every 7 days otherwise it's automatically taken off, and if the price was over 20 fg, you lose some fg)
The amount of items below 20 fg is capped at 20 items as well, I have about 60 or so items on my mules i'd like to have up for sale but don't simply due to reaching the 20 item cap.

is there a cap for 20fg+ sales? If I knew about this earlier I could've deleted like 3 of my characters :wallbash:
oddly enough with the mp sometimes you can find bargains also, especially for budget stuff I guess wealthy players just put them up to get rid of quick after finding, or just new players not knowing values I've bought 99ee lvl 20 chain and 102 ee 45 staff for 20 each

also might have inadvertently sniped this: https://ladderslasher.d2jsp.org/itemHistory.php?i=1228913490&c=0

this might be useful info for new players: if you put up an item to marketplace at a low price accidentally, it's possible to buy your own item back (just set filters for it) that way you only lose the fee

no cap for 20 fg+ sales that i'm aware of, perhaps at 100+ you might find one?

Oh just realised i said 20 items, its 25 items at 1-19.99 fg. Also any items at 20 fg or above do not count towards that 25 at all, so if you have 3 items at say 50 fg each then 24 items at 1-19.99, it will allow you to place 1 more item between 1-19.99

As said though, you get charged immediately the market fee, so whether or not it sells you've already paid at least 1 fg in tax.

yes that's how I interpreted it originally, this is more convenient than creating threads for mediocre items most people don't care about, thanks!

two other things:
On a reset all items are taken off the market, so all the fg on putting them up is lost.
To "refresh" an item on the market to go back to 7 days again, drag the item which is running out of time into the for sale box, it should automatically put the current cost in for you, put your password in and click edit and boom, your item is back up for 7 days again. Very useful at the start of the season for just dumping a tonne of items up at prices above 20 fg and being able to hopefully have them up for sale for a reasonable amount of time unless you get a crazy 1 week season lol
