Died at lvl 35 mage (only put 10 in vit)

So is there any reason to play a mage? You are squishy but do you actually do more dmg? Monsters have less magic defense?

Also when you promote your class is mage gear more usable?

hi, mages are better for group play because of monster immunities, yes they deal more damage because their abilities charge faster and the gear is more efficient because its 100% benefit from int whereas with melee you have ratios so by 71 you get 0.9*str benefit from stats

I think for solo casting people put points into vitality early because it scales up your hp over time, there are also objectives like sneaky that you can do to get vit, but maybe you need to look into maps to fight monsters not immune to your charms.There are good guides under the character builds section.

mage gear is usable on warlock and alchemist...a lonnggggg way off for someone who plays HC solo
you should stick to melee or try on sc
plenty of cheap gear on hc to give it a shot though

Mage is not a good starter class for this game. Melee fighter or barbarian would be easier to play.

Is melee take vita to 90-100

If mage take vita to 60

reason for a caster (mage) is for example it makes fun to cast or it makes fun to play meele. to have some options in the game is a good thing. yes start softcore to get some expirences for the game feeling.

I would Suggest Rogue or Fighter first, melee with EE armor and Dex or Str Charm and EE weapon
