To get into ladder slasher and do good progress with 4300 forum gold to my name only? Seems a bit low considering the amount of crazy trades for single items going on.
Also is there enough players to do the playing with? As I'm making this topic theres only 62 players online out of a total ~10k users online which seems pretty low.

Let me know because I would really like to try this game, looks fun.

It's absolutely possible with that amount of forum gold. With a few hundred FG you can get a decent set that may not be fast but still doable to MQ. The top tier items are the ones that cost 10k plus but that's not needed.

Hmm interesting, I just bought a weapon, armor and charm for 3 fg total to start me out because it felt like I was not doing enough damage. What is the MQ anyway? Yeah 10k fg / item for me is not an option right now I just want to try the game and see if I like it!

MQ is master quest, essentially what you're aiming for with each character. It starts at level 71 then increases by two levels for each unlocked class (73 samurai, 75 paladin, etc). No gear is required for it, just luck.

this set is pretty much good enough to get you to MQ. armor/charms significantly less important although they certainly help.
just depends how patient you are for killing stuff, as level 65+ in particular will require regenning to full health at least 4 times for the last few levels.

I personally am impatient so my gear allows me to MQ without regenning in town.

get to 80 vita by level 40 then points into strength, then at level 50 probably worth putting the final points into vitality till mq.

hmm, so now currently at lvl 13 as i'm writing this but it feels pretty lonely to kill stuff myself '-' are there any guilds out there that specialize in ladder slasher specifically that want me perhaps?

also do i need to buy a new armor and charm with str as often as i need to upgrade my weapon?

also does it matter if i go axe/sword/club as far as weapons go or is it just a matter of personal preference? i see that min dmg is highest i.e on axe's meanwhile swords have lower min damage but higher max damage etc

I'm sure there's a guild that will help.

The only point in upgrading a charm on melee is if it has higher stats.

Armor upgrading will increase Defense especially with ee armors

As for weapon selection, the ability to use on other classes is a big factor. If you pass master quest and unlock samurai they can only use blades(dagger,sword,longsword). Further classes have other equipment restrictions
