Does swapping to magic luck gear work on final shots? Like switching weapons in D2 for last blow?

I know it will get rid of my charges but seems like the ML affects drops (rolls on items being higher, not item rarity levels) drastically from my little experimenting

I'm sure this has been asked before but if you can link the thread that would be great, I couldn't find it but didn't look too hard

short answer is yes.

wells work differently as the first item is based on ML when you chuck it in (i.e if you throw a normal quality level 35 dagger the level 35 dagger which comes out on far left), rest would be from when the mob is killed.

Interesting- so start the well with ML gear on, swap to EE gear when it spawns, then kill with ML gear for final blow would be the best bet? If this idea works

thats what i do! not sure if it works or not but what the hell
sometimes if its a lower level i wont even swap to ee weapon

Every thing has been answered.

Final hit using ML items killing "should" factor for the drops.
Welling means ML affects the Item you threw into the Well and on final hit, as for the side drops, they may be affected if you were still using ML gear during the killing period... again, not affected on the item dropped in the Well.

I run ee/ml and str/ml so I don't swap. But there is times I just use my regular MQ sword and not my ee/ml 40 sword.. and to be honest I haven't noticed any significant difference. My best drop was found with 3ml
So honestly. I don't feel like stacking it is beneficial if it hinders your productivity.
