To me as a quite new player the meta looks like this:
5 man groups using whistle 24/7 doing a full climb in roughly an hour or fully geared solo climbers with godly gear that do not want to party because it will slow them down.

On the other hand barely geared newcomers (I just take myself as an example) take 8 hours solo to climb 43->73 because of many regeneration pauses and whatsoever.

It might be some good idea to add a component to the game that is noob-friendly and won’t bother too much with the guys that whistle all day long with ease.

This will also make the „room flashes and you are in new surroundings“ less of a pain imho. Explored a map 6 hours the other day and didn’t even finish it.

Feel free to argue about that and bring in additional ideas!

Idea is sound. I had a similar suggestion years ago... did not happen, solo'ing is just made to be slower for some unknown reason... :D

I will vote on this when I am not too intoxicated and think about it more. Goodluck with thread and votes.

Isnt it still gear depending? If you can't kill the mobs fast you won't be moving around much either. I am also a new player and don't have enough experience to tell how much this would change the game so it's a null vote from me. Interested in what more experienced people have to say about this.

Edit: to me 0.5 or 1% sounds a bit too much

Most groups will take an active new player that clicks the entire climbing stating 💯 into vita as a tank for a regular 1-mq

As long as you are being active and not afk .

Moving forward when knocked back .

And actually buying some gear for 35 45 55 levels .

People will take you as a meat shield

From my understanding the game was turned into multiplayer to promote teams . So I think solo won’t get much love tbh .

Solo is def fun especially when I have gear.

What are your goals ?

GPS? Or finding items ?

If u want gps. Then solo is not they way to go .

If u want gear the grinding solo with worse gear seems to pay out the best tbh

Yeah, that’s ok for me. Just wanted to bring in some new ideas how to be more attractive to new players. Today was the first time I got lucky and accepted into group. Normally I join and the leaders first sentence is „we are full group“

Well in their Defense somtimes they really are full. And the reason the group is public is because they talked on discord to have Somone out side of guild join the group.

(If this was. Level 1 group)

If this was not a level 1 group it actually could be an explore climb that has multiple guilds in it that Somone dropped from .

I dont see the point, LS is not a RTS, its hack and slash, and your first climb is also handicapped. I, personally, dont see a viable way to make it gear independent for a play through.

It looks like you fish/cook during your down time, which also gets you health, prof, exp. Then you can just whistle /1 and eat fish to stay longer later. Can also add a cheap heal charm and whistle away as well.

I think with the change to character limit, there is potential to add like an mq item drop till x pass or even a specific climb to a certain level as a starter class. But I dont see anything like that ever being implemented and it also caters more to those with gear, at least until there is a focus on climbing.

To cater specifically to newbies, I think a free vault for 30days on creation of first character would be nice addition. That gives you the ability to potentially earn the fg for the vault during your first climb, as well as play around with different things.

To help with groups something like a "community" climb event, where there is a %XX exp boost or a +X gp for having 5 people ALL from separate guilds.

If you do get a group, click and stay active, will likely increase your chances of filling in again when a filler is needed.
