For myself, depends on the Class of the character, abilities chosen and whether or not they chose Salvation with a decent heal charm and stats to complement it and items (this should also be taken into account at the LEVEL you are WELLING certain items).

As for Vitality total and welling, you need a MINIMUM of 90 BASE depending on your gear, if your gear exceeds 100% for the level (Tier) of your character level at that time, you could manage a minimum of 85 BASE vitality. I have characters like Samurai / Paladin with only a base of 30 Intelligence and 90 or 95 Vitality while NOT (NOT) using Enhanced Effect armor while I solo.
