is it worth doing? Pretty new to the game, not sure that I want to keep leveling and attempting master quest? I kind of just want to farm items, is it better that i do MQ or can i just death farm?

can death farm all you want. You will die pretty often and lose prof but some players consider the loss worth the (possible) reward.

Mq'ing is just possibly unlocking the next class and getting guild points

also depends if u think u will actually get an item or not? in most case u wont, but the 1 in million (not gonna name him) find more than 1 gg item

I would advise that if you do choose to death farm, do it on a secondary character. Have your "primary" that is intended to build up profs. Have the secondary for death farming, so that you aren't needlessly sacrificing profs on a character intended to be a future resetter or whatnot.

Problem with that is higher classes lose more xp from death so its more efficient to get to ~ paladin to death farm.

Dumb question from a new player - what is the point of "death farming"? Why not just reset or make new chars in that case?

You stay at higher levels. Don’t have to redo the lower levels where you don’t have to spend time not being able to find level 55 gear

Thanks! Another Q - why not just sit in catacombs whistling for the desired level range in that case?

That's what I'm currently doing - whistling 40's (partially because I found a well, but it also seems like the maps from exploring catacombs are rarely useful anyway)

you can do ones a 30min ( or more ) whislte till you have your desired lvl around 55 and stop lvling at this point, mob arent to hard so killspeed is at his peak...
or
you do whistle 30min or more
farm lvl 55-65 with max clearspeed
65-mq with alot less clear speed = less possible ep = less possible drops
and restart the cycle


dead farm is all about efficiency and how fast you can find ep since those wield the most loot

/E: its simply a different way of playing, most have a main char which they play with a group and do a full climb 1 - mq and a second char if no groups are open they can casually solo and dont have to care about deads

The basics of the game are well documented but the “meta” is a bit harder to figure out as a new player even with pretty good guides out there.
