Lvl 43 fighter, i went vit to 40 and now pumping strength.

I have just been using the maps that i obtained randomly but i can't really tell if they are worth it or not. Some of them I seem to get decent xp per monster and some are terrible.

Is there something specific I should be doing? Is there a way to farm maps? Is just doing regular catacombs with no maps bad?

I also have not done my master quest and not really sure how to begin it.

any help is greatly appreciated. thanks

you are going to want more Vitality then that, i usually tell people to put it up to 100
Maps have a 25 level cap on them, so at your level you will need to do Lvl 20 maps just to get normal experience unless the maps have +level cap on them.
you can do the regular catacombs but as a fighter you will most likely fall through a trap door, but that is fine, if you fall through simply leave the game and start a new cata, Or you can stay but the mobs get harder every trap door you fall though.

You will be able to attempt your master quest at lvl 71 on a feeder class. then +2 levels later with each master quest pass.

This is all just my opinion, others will give different advice on some things.

ask some to mentor you a bit with maps that are worth to keep and others to trash.

you can pretty nice farm maps by using a character that we name "trapdetector" like a rogue/monk or ninja, in your case a rogue, that character dont fall automaticly in the trapdoor, that helps to finish a regular (black) cata.
also you can do low level catas to earn fast maps, maps with +evil wells for example are worth some.

the master quest for starting characters (we name them feeders) are possible when you reach level 71.

ty. i guess should i be using junk maps over regular cata or can regular cata be better?

one point into using a map is there are no trapdoors inside! for me i like the regular catats black is better for my eyes. wich one are worth to run, well... for example +guild point maps, or maps with many eps or treasure chests, there only some examples.

when you accept another tip, create more chars, you can create max of 8, use them as mule chars for example, costs you nothing. check from time to time the market place to ugrade your power by changing to better weapons, armors charms. safe the gears you dont use on the mules or in a vault for the next climb.

strg helps with clubs/axes/swords, dex helps with daggers/staffs/axes, check also for a strg charm in your case, helps a bit.

a regular cata is always your level, so you will get maximum exp from it at all times, but when you back track in a regular cata (due to dead ends) you will encounter monsters on already explored space.
In a Map you can travel over explored spaces without the risk of mobs (Monsters)

At the end of a regular cata you you will find a map(more if multiple members in the group)
at the end of a map you will find a treasure chest. This as well will have more items the more people in the group.

If a regular cata you will also be able to find a well, these you can throw white (non magical) items into a fight a well boss (harder the higher level the item you throw in) the boss will then drop a magical+ version of the item you threw in as well as the possibility of side drops.

well shit, this is the info i was looking for. So i should keep a good white item on me always.

you could buy a small vault, its 50fg for 25 slots for 30 days. Good place to keep some items until you can mule them etc. probably the best investment into this game
if it runs out of time you just simply repurchase it, items inside are saved.

your vit is high enough. everyone thought you meant that you statted 40 vit, but you actually statted ALL vit until level 40, which may even be too much

Switch your charms around and place the earth charm in the first charm slot, you are not gaining anything from it at the moment.
