Get a decent ee weapon (ee adds more damage to your weapon) and just slash away

Ee on charms or armor doesn't add more damage it just adds more defense on armor or more damage/healthy by on charms

Another helpful tip is to get a healing charm and type /whistle 1 (to whistle for a level 1 monster so you don't take damage while you heal) and use the healing charm on a level 1 character when your life gets low. This is how you can stay in catacombs longer and not have to go back to town as often to wait for your life to heal...

But ya I'm new too. I just get a decent ee weapon and slash slash slash. Use healing charm when my life gets low. Go back to town when my life and mana get low and shrine some items I found or wait for my life and mana to replenish

You can type /whistle 23 to start whistling lvl 23 monsters again, or what I do is leave my /whistle set to level 1 and explore the maze to find monsters my level

Beetlejuice just started and he's already almost half way through the class system and doing great! . The game is gear dependent which is whole point of everything.
