I decided to give LS another go, played a long time ago. I can't recall how to use the well properly. I have all my white items on other chars, so when I find a well, how do I get the items back to be able to drop them in the well?

I tried searching the stickies but couldn't find anything.

If this is in the wrong place, could you point me to the correct one?

Click on marketplace then click on transfer to transfer

or you could keep all your whites in your vault.

That way you can pull them out on any character your on, that finds a well

Is that the easiest way to do it?

Yep

you will lose the map if you switch characters to transfer but normally can ask somebody to hold a well (map) while you transfer whites to your weller character.

Ahh ok, thanks! Will do that in the future.

All have answered:

#1 Answer... msg someone that is not in a group to hold your game while you transfer all your white items from your mule to your character &/or Vault.
#2 Waste your FG on a Vault to store your White items (maybe your climbing gear etc) ... Note: depends on whether you want to spend the next 30 days trying to compensate the X fg spent on your vault etc.

#3 Find a well, create a group and post a "Help me xfer items for well please" thread in the "catacomb section" or /msg xxx (comment) to see if that someone will aid you.

I am sure you know the ins' and outs' to do this.

Another random question, does it matter what level you well at? If I throw in a level 10 item, will it be better to wait until I am a higher level?

Depends on your gear really. I personally prefer to be 5 levels higher than Tier level. Note: I would want to be 10 levels higher if I was throwing in a Heavy weapon.

Again, gear dependent, I will well Tier III items @ level 1... but then my Tier III items I use have like 150-2xx max life each (500 extra life), but I will not throw in a Tier IV at level 1.

You will find your groove with your gear, try the 10 level higher rule ... it is an old one, but a safe one.
