Ok, first of all: it's been a while, so hello! :santa:

Second, it's been a while and it's still like that, so probably it won't change (unless I'm a genius and njaguar has really not thought about that for so many years).

Nevertheless, here I am - sane or not (that freakin pandemic time is killing me) and thought that I'd share this...

So, I guess it's nothing new when I say that LS is not much about trading and all the best items are kept by leading guilds, BUT
- people are still selling something worthy, right?

The only problem is that all those nice items which are for sale are not on the MP.
Why? For sure one of the reasons is that upfront fee. The second (but actually the first) would be the fact, that there are not enough players, so there is no point to place an item, pay the fee and have it expired, right?

So, why not have it the way where we can place more items for better prices (more items overall!) and not worry that they will find no buyer and expire?
How about we place our item over and over again and the buyer finally shows up, buys the item for the full price and nice fee is being paid?

How about any time we check MP we see something interesting, something for a different (bigger) price than 19.99 fg?

I find that upfront fee as the final nail in the coffin for the MP. Pretty much none of us will put all the items on the MP, because we know that it's better to find a buyer first and once the buyer is found we often sell it for 1 fg to avoid paying the fee.

If we don't need to worry about the upfront fee, we will be more willing to put more items for bigger prices on the MP. I think that should work way better for njaguar too.

(Just in case / tl;dr version: fee would still apply, but after the item is sold)

Most recent update added this:

Editing an item's cost or refreshing the listing time now refreshes the sell tab

Can keep an item up all season long with proper maintenance.

With last update you can relist the same item at the same price before it expires without paying the fee again; so as long as you update it you only pay the fee once. I don't really mind the upfront fee; I think it helps discourage people from listing trash at exorbitant prices

how do I refresh the listing time?

but I just edited price for one of my items on the MP and it actually worked, thanks! :)

anyway, lmk what you think, I still find that fee as holding ppl back and my main goal here is to see more variety of items and prices on the mp

No idea how often in the years someone suggested it and never got inplented... so probably the best we can hope for is pay the fee upfront for first time and then redo the price every 6days ( well you only can go even or lower )

And im fine with this compromis

just longer listings would be helpful.

if no fee up front people will use MP like a vault and list for the items at crazy prices,

I did vote yes as I want to see good items posted on marketplace for sale rather than have to browse the forum without a filter.

Welcome back Barteq.

The new changes (v1.32) are good as people have mentioned, since I don't play Softcore anymore, I am wondering if "Season Ladder Reset" means that you will HAVE to pay the fee again.

SC are in season 29, so all your items on MP @ and above 20fg can be re-listed without paying the fee, so what will happen when Ladder is Reset? Will you have to re-list and pay the Fee again? Since this has not happened yet, no one can answer this.

I haven't voted yay/nay etc until above has been answered, if you are charged a fee with the new season on an item on MP @/above 20 fg, then this may need to be revisited in the coding to extend past seasons. I don't think I will say yes for your suggestion, but I hope Paul will upgrade his last update (that helps us users putting items on fg with fee etc) to extend past the season.

Hope above made sense, since it is Christmas Day here... Merry Christmas and the best for the New Year (this is for you and all of Ladder Slasher players)

Yes. All up-front fee's should be removed. Agreed.
