Looking for some general tips from older players to help us new ones find that good gear.

Do you only do group whistle climbs, do you solo, any efficient levels to park at for a while with ML gear? Are there any levels you've found are sweet spots to find a particular tier/type? Do you mostly just use wells for MF? Are there benefits to trying to farm post MQ levels or does the difficulty outweigh the potential gains?

Basically anything you've found particularly useful or effective would be helpful.

Imo explore in groups like 45-71 is best way to find a lot of higher tier items, using higher lvl maps make this even better.

With that being said most of my good-great drops have been from solo explore at 55+.

I switch to ML gear when solo to last hit eps and wells.

Some people farm at lvl like 63, then kill there char over and over to not lvl I don't have the patience for this.

Great tip, shoulda thought of this. For wells, does it take ML into considetation when the white is thrown in or only on last hit?

I believe someone tested way back when the ML change was put into place and it was found that ML is applied to the white item when it is thrown in and then ML is applied to the side drops when the monster dies. So to get the most of it you'd have to switch to ML to throw the item in for it to apply to the white item then you can switch to other gear and on the last hit switch back to ML for the side drops.

I never take it off. Then again I haven’t found anything good recently. I find that playing the game helps with finding drops, not just ML :P

Wearing it for reg mobs feels like a waste of time and it really slows the climb down

In most cases it is based on your killspeed to get more drops faster over a period of time, so you will bascially need to add in the amount of ML that does NOT interfere with your killspeed whether you are gaining levels &/or welling.

Taking into consideration of above paragraph, you will also have to add in the effect of "Event" and "Map hunting" ... or being Softcore add in "Die Hunting" (basically dying constantly at a certain level to NOT level up in the chances to find great item(s) ).

The only thing I did not mention above is the "reduction" of "dropped items" based on their "tier lvl" versus that of the "character level" ... basically if you "Map Hunt" for "Tier level 20" items (@ level 25-30 exploring a TierIV map), you will get more drops in comparison to your character level of 35-45 whistling or exploring catacombs. BUT, a lot of people may tell you otherwise since they have NOT even tested this out.

So... using say 7 ML exploring a TierIV map @ level 28 may give you more chances to find Overspawns or more level 20 item drops in comparison to exploring a catacomb @ level 35-45 (maybe higher, and catacomb map is much larger than the level 5 Map). NOTE: just an idea for people to actually test out for themselves, I am not saying it is 100% correct, but neither denying it either.

Yeah... but probably half my explore finds are from regular mobs (although I think 0 from whistled mobs), so there's that ;)
