Do wells disappear after a certain amount of time or uses?

I was welling on my solo self found character that I decided to create And after I finished one of my well items I got a sword upgrade

I equipped it and then all of a sudden my well was no longer there but my map was still explored to where the well is

Does equipping different gear make it go away?

They have a limit to how many times they can be used I believe it's random, I'm not sure what the exact numbers are!

uses is between 1 and 200 generally in 99% of cases, there was a topic where someone tracked how many uses each had, they generally averaged at 15-20, partly because some have over 100 uses about 1 in 20 times.

This is my second well that has disappeared in less than 5 uses. Must be unlucky or maybe it’s because I have to town 1-2 times for health each use 😂
