Changed fishing rods to not break when you disconnect, but instead just abort the fishing (Sep 27 2019)

I just disconnected while fishing. I pretty much just started fishing and less then one turn into it, I got the 1006 error code or whatever that d/c code is. My rod when from 44 durability down to 29.

I wanted to try to find out if others have had the same issue? Can anyone confirm that this update is working? or Does the "Fishing rods to not break" meaning after zero durability is reach it wont snap in half?

From my understanding, I thought it reads client and server side and cuts the connection if they aren’t communicating correctly.

It should abort with no durability lost I thought. As I’ve had instances where I’m fishing just fine and no lag and it randomly DCs even with a good connection.

I think it would be packets sent but not received would kill the connection. Or is that backwards?

Its working.

Before the update, if the durability filled up before you reeled in the fish, the rod breaks and its gone.

Now, if you dont reel in the fish in time, you lose 7-15 durability to the rod.


I have lost connection while fishing, sometimes I did lost dura, sometimes I didnt.

If your fishing with a white or no dura rod, it will snap if your snags beat your fish.


Fixed that a rod with 100+ dura wont break after a couple tries and foul ups.

Yeah both instances happened to me, but more often than not the game aborts the fishing, can't complain honestly, since the former game mode was awful where no matter the dura rods would snap.
