fishing rods have lvls do i need to have a rank of 5 to use a lvl 5 fishing rod?

you can use any rod at any level. But try to keep your lvl of rod(s) closest to your fishing prof level

no point using a rod below your fishing level iirc either.

But yes, at fishing level 1-3, use a level 5 rod with ~20-70 durability to catch level 5 fish.

you can use a rod with no durability too
