Is it only the death count that goes up or does anything else happen?

HC = perm rip
SC = you lose x% proficiency, don't recall what the numbers are though.

10% of progress toward current ranks base per death, increasing with each pass on the char.
You also lose 10% of progress toward current lvl in exp per death, also increasing with each pass on the char.

a little more than 10% per death.

Had 98% staff prof at lvl 4 prof, died once and it got knocked down to 60%

On what class? If monk 40% is about right
