I started reading a few stickies and jumped into the game to play it last night. Currently using any weapon with highest dmg. I'm playing fighter and currently have sword with some EE on it. I saw something about the weapons and stats allocation for each type like sword is 75%str/25% dex. What does this mean exactly? like Axe is 50/50. Starting out with 50/40 it would seem like I should keep my str/dex at even stats using an axe for a simple balance. What happens if I decide to put all into strength but later see a nice axe with a ton of EE on it. Is there any loss of dmg or opportunity cost in choosing an axe say opposed to a sword also with EE?

In one of the stickies from years ago it appears that for melees, there were only so many ways you can go in placement of stats after the crit nerf, if I remember that right.

Can we handicap ourselves with improper stats allocation, and make it even worse with poor choice of weapons?

I also noticed that at the end of the maze run, we are given a couple maps. These maps and other items tend to vanish rather quickly if not selected. Is this intentional?

1. it shows what stats gives it more damage. However in reality with swords, more or less just go all strength.
on axe you can keep it balanced, but daggers/staffs go deep.

2. Yeah you can screw yourself over, or at least makes thee class worse by starting in an ineffective way.

3. Maps just like items disappear soon after you are done with a maze, or engage in new fights, its the basic mechanics.

and for weapons, some weapons are "better" than others.

Mostly its based on what items can be used by thee locked chars. If you use swords they work for your starter class, the samurai and the paladin, and you dont ned to change weapons before monk.
you can't do that with axes.

and then there is the damage range, weapons have the same average dmg, but an axes minimnum and maximum damage are very close, so it gives smaller crits but give a stable damage. where swords can give massive crits but can also give out 0s and 1s

Thanks fzy for the info.

I’ll make sure to leave some room in my inventory then for end of maze items and grab them quickly.

I’ll do a run through and see how things go. Only other questions I have regard the crafting and I saw some info on that i’ll Just have to reread.

Playing on iPad, when I drag an item to purchase into the box to purchase the item, that item doesn’t drop into the box. Is there a work around for this?

If you are playing on a I pad its prob like the phone.
Click once to "grab the item" then click the box in the MP.
(Never really used a iPad but thats how it is on phone/tablet I have used.

Just be sure if you click on your items to reclick if not doing anything with the item. Its pretty easy to shrine gear by accident.
