i found a lvl 30 fishing rod with +2 to proficiency first time seeing it can anyone explain

Explain what? Rods can spawn with 1-2 prof.

does anyone know what the prof on rods does? it certainly doesn't give you extra prof per fish, man that would be lovely :D with how much fish I have to release and how much fish escapes and only getting 1-2 prof per fish at rank 45, getting another 1-2 would be insane

I always assumed it made it so your ease of fishing behaved like you were +1-2 proficiency ranks higher

It’s this but 1 prof level doesn’t really change much. If you could get a rod with a substantial amount of prof maybe it would make a difference

Yup this is correct, it increase your current rank with the number on the rod.

But it's not really useful at all unless at very low level.

Durability is the only way to go if u ask me.

I assume its max spawn is 1 over the tier? I would say there is a chance a rod with 10+ might come out ahead of durability. Its a shame none exist to test the theory. Prof rods are rare af

I have reached level 1 in fishing, but havent found any fishing rod yet.
Are those pretty rare or need to fish more to get one?

You can only find rods in the catacombs or buy from the mp
