These seem to be the best items I’ve run into lately.

Is there any purpose to having this loot other than throwing it into the shrine and swapping out for the best stats for my class?

You will want to keep your low level gear to allow you to reclimb in the future. If you save the best gear you find throughout the first climb you will cut your time down a lot on the second

I really just wish I knew what the "threshold" was for sellable items on the marketplace. I would love to make some FG to finance trades for other games/poker, nothing major.

one does not simply profit from LS to play poker, they profit from poker/(or other games) so they can play LS
