probably the pm's i send out lol.
here's one i did earlier:
In terms of your character. Fighter/barbs are generally the first choice. All points should go to strength and vita (get to around 80 vita by the time you reach level 35 for newer players)
In terms of the skills, Barbarians usually use retribution, knockdown and power strike (fighter ability).
Fighters should put a lot into power strike and a few points into bottoms up then at level 45+ either knockdown or retribution if you want a third ability, better to charge up the first 2 to a high % first.
For weapons, the main stat you want is enhanced effect (ee)
for armour you want to use either scale, chain, or plate or Leather. The main stat you want is ee.
For charms, you want +strength
You should make a new character for storing your equipment. The general idea is to slowly improve your equipment so you can level faster and easier.
It's a bit silly to sell all your low level stuff as when you reach level 71, you attempt the "master quest" and either succeed or fail it and you're reset to level 1. There is usually not a lot of point continuing past that level as the mobs get much much harder.
Here's one of my mules which stores my clubs:
https://forums.d2jsp.org/user.php?c=3&i=193561&p=517481level 55 is the highest level which can be found, and you can see i have equipment to go from level 1 to 55 (there's a few gaps, but especially at later levels that's normal)
To transfer your equipment over, use the marketplace then transfer. You do not need to put your gold password in the box as transferring to your own characters on the MP is free.
Next thing is possibly even items to look out for
First thing on the list is "white" items (no stats), these are used by throwing them in the well, but usually better for newer players to sell them
, here's a rough price breakdown:
vl 20 1 fg
lvl 25 ~1-2 fg
lvl 30 3-5 fg
lvl 35 ~5-8 fg
lvl 40 ~10-15 fg
lvl 45 ~ 19 fg
lvl 50 ~ 35 fg
lvl 55 ~ 65 fg
https://ladderslasher.d2jsp.org/itemHistory.php?i=1220814823&c=0 (no stats lvl 50 for 39 fg)
https://ladderslasher.d2jsp.org/itemHistory.php?i=1220814682&c=0 (no stats lvl 55 for 60 fg)
Also worth keeping up to date this this topic on which items to sell
http://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=60608527&f=273&p=546577556here's a few examples of items selling based on that topic:
https://ladderslasher.d2jsp.org/itemHistory.php?i=1220956647&c=0https://ladderslasher.d2jsp.org/itemHistory.php?i=1220956614&c=0https://ladderslasher.d2jsp.org/itemHistory.php?i=1220953453&c=0they will not pay any more than 1 fg, unless stated.
That's currently it in terms of "non useful" items you will find.
In terms of items people use there's the following stats:
Enhanced effect (ee)
Strength (str)
Dexterity (dex)
Magic Luck (ML)
Intelligence (Int)
Heal Mastery (HM) needs to be 40% or higher
Extra Equipment Slots (EES) needs to be 3 or higher, although 2 slots will sometimes sell for 1 fg.
Keep any maps which have a high number of anything, or have 6+ stats, i can double check the price on them. although it's unlikely you will complete a map at lvl 30 or higher (when you explore the entire area, a map will drop), the area to explore gets larger as you level, so the chances of finishing a map decreases drastically at lvl 30 onwards.
here's an evil presence map, this is the most likely type you'll find which is worth anything:
https://ladderslasher.d2jsp.org/itemHistory.php?i=1220910634&c=0If you can find a "+1 well" map, Worth about 30-50 fg per qty.
you're unlikely to come across too many rods, the ones with no stats are worthless. they usually need +20 durability to have any value
There's about a 0.0001% chance to come across a totem, if you find one, pick it up

there's a 0.001% chance of finding a potion, again pick it up ^^
got any questions feel free to ask.
I would also suggest softcore simply because there are more items there, so getting started will be much easier.
IF one of the HC players is willing to help you with some equipment for a small price then it can work out also, just be warned hardcore is hardcore.
Also if you choose hardcore you will probably want 90 vita rather than the suggested 80
