Char is New2Slashing

Hey all! I am a newb to slashing. basically, all I know is that Barbs are best equipped with Enhanced Effect items. Do not know what to dump Stats or Skills in to.

Any help (providing it is correct) is super helpful, and I really appreciate it. :) Also figured this is a great way to introduce myself to this section. :P

Thanks folks! B)

Howdy, welcome to the game.
Your stats would depend on what weapon/gear you plan to play with.

Your best bet would be to go with swords and use strength charms. Swords can be used on barbarian, then also on samurai and paladin when you start to pass.

Be sure the check out the ladder slasher portal in the top right corner, it has almost all of the information you need.

Also don’t be disgruntled when others do not want you int here group climbs, you will first be asked to get to know the game, and invest in your gear.

Best of luck

Also when looking at what ability’s you would like to use, you are not limited to the blue ones, those are just class abilities and they will charge faster. But the red ones can be selected as well.

Max number of abilities is 3 per climb

I suggest you make some mule characters so that you can transfer the gear that you want to keep.
At the start, TierIII items are the best, as long as they have the required mods for you, then you get
to level 5 character, you can start wearing TierIV items, and if you find some, you can transfer your
TierIII items using the Marketplace [Transfer Tab] and select character to send them to... this helps
you keep your items, as you increase in levels and find higher tier items, you can rinse and repeat this.

You start with 8 Inventory on your character, when you complete a catacomb, you have done the Maze
objective which bestows either 1 or 2 extra inventory slots. You can do this with mules once you have
starting gear to make it faster for you.

Try for 75 Vitality at the start, then go for 75 strength, then alternate 5 stats points to each until you
reach 100 vitality then rest in Strength... you must use Strength ratio weapons (Swords / Clubs / Axes)
you may find better ee items, but different type at same tier level that you can use, so switch to the
better weapon... but as stated before... swords are a good starting point, if you come across axes... try
to keep those also as well as daggers for later on.

Hope this helps with your startup.

If you are playing by yourself i would put strength gear on and put all your points into vitality until you hit 100 vita.

If you can’t afford good swords I recommend clubs. They are strong and cheap. I use retribution skill for barns if you plan on soloing. Gear can be strength or ee armor. Either works. Charm should be strength but not necessary. I run 1-71 using only ml (magic luck) charms.

Also have a beginners guide that might help in the character builds thread.

Go barbarian or fighter.

100+ vitality for sure! retribution and powerstrike for abilities. You'll want to check the marketplace for 1-5 fg upgrades always if you don't have very much gear. You'll find tons of gear that's actually pretty decent and useful for very cheap prices.

a 110 ee sword might sell for a couple hundred but a 80 ee sword would sell for 5-10. Huge difference in price and not so much in practice.
