So i am running solo at the moment. and still trying to figure this game out... but i am confused by drops disappearing when i am killing monsters? is there a timer on items and if i dont take them they disappear or something?

You have I think 5 secs from the time you click engage/whistle before drops disappear after killing mobs. If you do not engage, they stay there for you to view/click on
