Previously, even prior to the latest update, I have noticed that welling within your level vs tier item, you gain a lot more experience points shown by the XP Gain Bar.

Currently:
Level 3/4 welling TierIII items and gaining 8/9 % experience gain on the XP Bar.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Can you record your findings at the same time... thank you.

EDIT: Currently level 4 character welling TierIV Wild Heal: 4 drops / 1 TierV side drop. (9% xp gain on bar)
EDIT2: Currently level 4 character welling TierIV Wild Heal: 4 drops / 2 TierV side drop (8% xp gain on bar)
Angelic wind V, Spell Damage: 16 to 72, +40% Enhanced Effect, +3 Critical Strike, +3% Physical Damage Reduction, +3% Mana Skin
Mythical lightning V, Spell Damage: 5 to 57, +43 Max Life, +1 to 1 Life per Kill, +1% Damage Return, +1% Armor Pierce, +1% Parry
EDIT3: Level 4 / Well TierIV: 3 drops (junk) ... (8% xp gain on bar)
EDIT4: Level 4 / Well TierIV: 4 drops (junk 1x TierV side) ... 7% xp gain on bar

Well destroyred.

Welling definitely seems to have a correlation of character level and wellable item level between "reasonable drops" and finding junk over and over.

Welling much closer to your level yields by far the best results

I imagine this is because the monster is "stronger" and inherently will provide a larger amount of XP

Tier 3 wellable suggests level 10+ mob, no?

I mean, we could have a crazy suggestion like asking to get displayed monster levels, but that sort of transparency is probably unheard of in gaming

From previous data about drops being 2 tier below character level, you could be correct.

TierIII = Level 8-10 Monster (Note: you could get TierIII @ level 8 character)
TierIV = Level 15 Monster
TierV .= Level 20 Monster
etc.

But, I am not 100% certain.

Given that data would you not just assume you'd get more exp from a mob triple your level? Might almost even assume you could possibly get 3x normal exp when facing a monster 3x your level

True, but I do not like to assume, I prefer actual tests.

So 2% xp gain on bar vs a normal monster / 3% xp bar vs an EP would in effect mean you should get around 10%+ xp gain on bar when welling. But, this is theory / speculation.

The reason you could get tier III at lvl 8, in a solo game (previously, tier III required a level 10 monster to drop it, now it's a level 5 monster), in the past is because in a solo game you could explore to find monsters 0 - 2 levels above your current level. As you added more players to the game, you could increase the maximum level of driven monsters, although there would always be a spread. If you ever found a tier III in a solo game using whistle at lvl 8 or even 9... then please let me know, since whistled monsters are set to the whistle level and don't go higher or lower ;)

I don't whistle... but I believe you still can, especially @ level 9

Did not take note of XP gain on bar. But for me this was interesting:

Character level 34 / Item dropped in well, level 25 / Side drop 1x level 35 item (basically 2x Tier level of item put in well) ... Note: 7ml on character. Also... all junk items.

Junk 35:

Magical wild heal X, Heals: 13 to 133, +4% Physical Damage Reduction

level 20 item put into well / character level 34 / side drop level 30 (2x Tier higher)

Ive been seeing up to 2 tiers higher than the well for a while. You do not need to be high enough for them to drop. The monster that is spawned is based off the original item not your level. I regularly do my welling at or below the level req of the items Im welling due to the increase in the number of drops.

Yes, Paul said he made it so that 1 tier higher can drop from monsters now, but he did more than that. From my testing, it seems that now you can get a lvl 55 drop at lvl 54 in solo. Previously, the first lvl you saw lvl 55s in solo was 63. But I haven’t determined yet if this is purely a reduction in the required monster lvl for a given drop, or a combination of lvl and increased max lvl above driver at which monsters are allowed to spawn... but I’ll try to find out :)

Yup! Previously, you could on rare occasions get 1 tier higher than the wellable in a couple of ways... 1) well at a level close to or under (but not too far under) the level of the wellable in a solo game, or 2) well relatively near 10 levels above the wellable level or below in a group game with at least one other player in it (with odds of getting a tier upgrade going up with number of other players in the game and level of killers getting close to the wellable level or just under)... but as far as I know, 2 tier upgrades were not possible... at least not under normal circumstances.

Now it seems like 1 tier upgrade is very common and doesn’t even require special level of killer or planning in solo mode... and 2 tier upgrade is very common in duo+ :)
