Can magic luck items be used as a switch like in d2?

Can you carry a ml weapon in your inventory and switch to it for the last couple hits and still get the benefit?

I posted The answer to your question in one of the threads about magic luck. When Wellington you can equip magic luck and drop an item and then the item you drop then will be affected even if you switch . However the side drop items that come from the well will only happen when you switch so really you need to do it backwards on regular monsters at least that’s the way I assume it works by equipping magic luck for the kill

I think he is talking more about being able to equip 2 sets of gear, and being able to toggle between them without the current process of equipping the other items.

It’s an interesting concept. Could open up more styles of play, help with regen gear, or even ML.

Dunno if it works but I keep a ml weapon and armor on with my normal ee gear in my inventory. (Since I don't understand the mechanism exactly) I initiate the fight and take the first hit with ml gear. Then I switch to my ee stuff to weaken them and then back to ml for the kill.

I'm wondering if the switch allows for my ml to count or if to the monster has to be completely killed using ml gear.

So far, from my best estimation, it seems to have an effect. Though I only have a combined 8 ml.

Easy enough to test
do lvl 1-5 with magic luck on the whole time, see how many overspawns you get
get a bad tier 1 wep with no magic luck on anywhere, hit a mob, make sure killing blow is with ml on, see if you get overspawn
Have no ml gear on, spawn mob, switch to ml gear and kill, see if you get overspawn

on kill. the exceptiong being welled items. the item you drop in is created when you put the item in. so you need to equip ml drop item in. then switch to damage, then switch back. for everything else you can kill with ml on after damaging with damage gear
