So, what is summoning? Why now? Impact on game play?
So this is actually an idea I submitted straight to Paul maybe 3 years ago+ now. It was to address several issues and promote gameplay and skilling overall and to make hard to fill groups complete. I never heard anything back on it, but did mention the idea to a few friends. So lets break it down and see if this is something the community would actually enjoy.
THIS IS A NEW PROFICIENCY!!!! (Tears begin, everyone cries "Omfg noes, nn, waste of time building blah blah blah...."). Yes a new prof but one that would have some awesome benefits.
How would building it work? whats required? Creating and summoning Constructs. Quite literally just like a summoner making golems on D2, this is the same type of principle.
* For every 10 levels, you would be able to make an additional group member (AI operated construct ofc) that could help you tank/attack/heal etc. Requirements? Weapons/charms/armors etc. Non-magic = generic construct with set stats/hp/mana
Magical + would boost those benefits with a soft cap on magical level/tier of item used and a hard cap based off of your proficiency/tier of item/etc.
*How would AI work? Up to the community/developer to figure out, but I would recommend recipes of sorts for "Types/Classes" of constructs. Ex: Utilizing Fish/Essences/Glyphs could choose if it focuses primarily on healing/producing auras for passive enhancements/casting buffs on characters/debuffs on mobs
*What does this do for everyone? Groups can be filled out with missing person or two enabling options to explore. Groups are necessarily driven by who has to "Tank" when you can make a construct do it, so stats can be derived off of preferred play styles. Just examples. You could focus more on exploring. This could even benefit solo players. Cons? Certain quests cannot be activated with just constructs and a few members (Mirror Maze or NMNM)
Would be beneficial and make those "Lets wait 2 hours when we could have 4 manned in same time" less annoying and promote gameplay. Skillers could have some profit by selling supplies and actually skill.
Idk, was a random thought I would put out to the community. I did not include all the ideas I originally had for this, as right now its not needed. Probably be too many people against the idea of adding yet another skill to the game, but who knows. Discuss if interested. If you have nothing positive to contribute, then don't.
