Also, is there a faster to way to leave a battle after monsters are killed? I hate having to click engage after every battle ends.

whistle is a faster way, simply press t button all the time when mobs dead, more interesting way is to explore and do quests

when you explore, is there a key that lets you back out a finished battle without a reengage like T?

I read the objective list initially, but it's filled with "??" since I probably haven't completed it... but I don't know what am I suppose to complete?

nah, the ??? has been there for 8 years or so now. they were supposed to be updated after the first release of the quests after people had time to figure out what they were,, it just never got done. most of the names have a hint as to what they do

you can press G. that will put you back to the map, and if you dont move, it wont reengage.

that ??? in the list you can ignore, important to enable is the level required and that you have done some previous quests in the list. maximum quests per new group =3. But no garanty that you compleate it soon, can be go fast or can need longer trys.

About the first quest its easy to compleate on level 1 with a short map, later it will needs longer because of the bigger catas.

another question, when MQ is completed... does is create another character availability (ninja, samurai, etc) or is it like a character reset and changes the character to level 1 with a new title, that being ninja, samurai, etc

If you pass mq. You unlock the next class and it's only playable on the one you passed with
