While hovering around the MP just for fun today I saw Jangalangs search for ices.

He bumped the topic to the third side and didnt even get an offer beyond the third ice level.
I always thought, there is purpose for almost no drops of useful items. One idea was pushing the prices for the existing items to make some % fg (fees) .
Another thought was reducing the players numbers for several possible reasons I dont have to mention since they must stay theory.
That topic showed me we reached another level of making this unplayable for new players for sure, but now as well for established players trying to switch gear.

A common effective set can not be completed at all !

If this will not be changed, the game has to die.
Sad but obvious : It seems to be intended. For whatever- maybe good - reasons. Maybe not to fight the players who spent real money to the game by just shutting down the servers. Easier to wait until they leave.
I still remember some reactions, when the site was down - for longer - some time ago and users got afraid it was the end of LS. Quite hilarious.

I have no deeper intention writing this. Just wondering and sharing thoughts of no proof. In anyways it is always a good thing to have no addiction to anything. Stick to the buddha. :)

As someone who started playing again 2 weeks ago after selling all my gear, i can tell you i had no trouble at all finding sets of everything, found a nice sword set, an axe set, stat ítems and a full caster set, but instead of making a thread and bumping i was proactive and actually went trough people mules to find them.

On this thread recently made and on the first page you can find not one but 4 ices, one of them beeing really good.

Ladder slasher isnt a game where everything can just be rushed... play one week, get the best sets, all profs to 30 and reset the ladder. The key is patience.. i really like it a lot that in a time where everything has to happen instantly and most people are not willing to put in any effort or patience into anything there is still something that is not working like that.
If someone cant complete a set of ice.. maybe there are other elements for trade. There is still a chance to switch elements later on.
There have been 2x 200+ee items dropping in the last 2 weeks, worth about 40k fg together. If people explore during the right event, there is a chance to get decent or good drops.

There are also regular events which add alot of flavour to the gaming every week and are attractive for all kind of players. I have seen over 40 players online at a time lately. The game is dying by no means. People are telling thie crap since 5 years.

We have a bottomed out player base for the most part. Mostly same core for the last 6 years. Then you have another small group of coming and going. Activity it's been lethargic for 4 seasons. The proof is in the ladders. 4 seasons in a row we've had less than 50 monks, less than 50 ninjas by time of reset. Core has passed up which left about 25 players spread across wl hh and alc. below that were countless mules of these players and then the handful of those who come and go. Accept it. Not a big deal.

Gear is relatively easy to get still. You have to do some work though. Making a thread and bumping it till closed is one of the least successful ways to get gear. A even less successful way of getting gear is constantly posting "got a bin?" "Lmk price" on items your interested in.

I sold out 9 years ago because game was dying :P .
Gonna agree with powertripped here. Best way to acquire gear is to look in the ft lists and pm people.
You could also ask someone who knows where a lot of gear is if you're looking for a specific item. He/she will locate the item your iso and keep it even though they've never been interested in that.

I'm sure Jangalang's gotten a few pms. Not many people post anymore in threads. Most trades are done via pm nowadays.

it is DEAD already. just some diehards left, thats all. noone with a clear mind is playing this anymore...

I still heave the best heavy weapon sets of longswords and spears and its years ago, that i stoped. it is prolly more fun to play with these than the usual stuff, but fun is really relative, because it is even more fun to just do nothing^^

I’ve completed multiple sets in the past few months (yes I have some holes but it’s enough to secure my reset this season)

it's taken me a fair while to get to where i am, but i don't play that much. the barrier to entry is pretty high since i still have all mediocre gear
