We all know the game needs more content, the following is just a basic idea and for us all to converse on it in more terms.

Questing:
This is not like Objectives, it is not a standard catacomb, you can NOT use whistle [acts like maps].
Prime objective is to complete a series of tasks while getting to the final destination. Once you complete
this quest, it opens up another quest, OR, you can choose to ignore others and just do a normal catarun.

Now I have not finalised anything, but hopefully as a community we can come up with ideas of "Quest Items, bonuses etc"
You would level in the same way, you can still MQ @ 71 and you can still continue on questing upto 101 for the extra GP maybe.
Quest items can NOT be used in normal catacombs, items are also level restricted... I don't know... let us build on this.

The game is not fun... it is all about GP hunting and maybe the odd ocassional great drop... there is no more exploring etc.

tl;dr... welll another area that we can enter, but, only for quests while levelling up, and quest items are specific... and none
of the objectives are relevent there. A new area with new specific items and the chance of finding game items as well.

Adding new content wont change ppl behavior of how to get to mq afap of what to farm constanrly for drops.

As long as suggestions arnt facing towards more drops / less time / easier handling, the community dont accept it and if something can of will be mplemented lies only in pauls hands.

I like your passion of trying to improve ls, rex, but truely spoken, is wasted time since Most stuff wont happen.

I wholly agree that the game, at this current stage is in a tailspin.
Game can be completed within 45 minutes to 2 hours, little to no gear needed in fact
The drop rates may be where he wants it. Its just not ideal to the community, but the said community is 10-60 players online (more like 10-25 players online).
Paul may have the game ratios to drop based upon a player base of 200-500 players :headscratch:
So his initial production ideas may not be being meet.. Get what I am trying to say here?


People wanted Arena back, they essentially have it with whistling. Though I doubt that was his intention, nor the masses :p
Which seems to have been intended for mobile devices and is being savagely abused to gain mass GPs.
But GPs are all but worthless, so that is maybe a tolerable abuse by Paul, also not much drops when whistling 1-71.

I like where you are going at with the new content sort of. Ie... New quest and objectives, new end game

True... nothing you stated is harsh.

The idea for new content could lead to improved drops, but, to reap the rewards, it has to be more challenging and fun, not easier and shorter.
With that in mind, it won't be an easy task to make it fair for beginners starting out compared to those with gear.

All good points.

It needs new content that is challenging, rewarding and fun... don't really want it to be a new game, but, I have no idea how
to balance out what people currently have vs a beginner to the game.

Maybe the introduction of "durability" to items and introducing a "Smith/Craft" shop that takes fg out of the system... or a skill
that can be learnt, and that person(s) can open a shop and provide a service @ a fee. [I know... ppl hate this idea]

Content does not have to be stagnant to just one thing...

Anyway, like the discussion so far, keep it coming.

i dont like the idea of "quest items". many dont even have normal items.. so why bother to introduce new items that cant be used in normal cata or so... really not needed imo... but what i do like is new quests and/or especially quests for solo play that are challenging AND rewarding.. the existing solo quests are a lot better than they used to be (gj paul so far ;) ) but this needs to be improved and taken care of... so i have to improve my gear to be able to do the quest with some effort with the motivation of having a chance of getting a drop.. or at least some higher lvl items guarantee.. or some nice higher lvl wellables at least.. together with the option of being able to SELL WELLABLES.. you could actually farm a bit.. this is what the game is needing.. the possibility to farm and get rewarded.. like path of exile for example where you are able to farm and actually sell orbs or whatever.. i dont want to sell just a few muteables for 2-5 fg to be able to pay my vault after 10 hours of gaming (also thx for making the vault cheaper! gj too)... but if i could earn lets say 100 to possibly 1000 fg in a climb if i am carefully farming.. (not just one click whisle 1hour climb).. i mean actually playing the game.. then a lot more guys would have the motivation to play.
if the well is adjusted in a good way (make well harder again with better drops).. the wellables could act like some kind of currency.. (you either want to well because you can get a good item.. or you want to get nice profs).
welling needs to be more special. you have to improve yourself to be able to well.. to improve yourself you are selling wellables... later on you can buy wellables and well yourself.. so this is your aim..

people need to play ls to earn fg to pay their silly orbs at poe.. not the other way around ;)


edit: things like ambush spawnrate need to be changed dramatically.. nn to be able to get ambush every 3-5mins to abuse it.. but also nn to play 2 hours streight and maybe not even see ambush even if i go for it.
nomazenomore? still part of the game? idk. at least it is still in the quest list.
things that were broken by nerving them just need to be taken care of.. a little bit more motivation and love towards the game to do proper balancing in MANY aspects by the developer like some time ago would be awesome.
smartphone play is really decent.. (also here some changes are needed though) but the balance changes are really urgent.


tldr: game needs a lot of balancing changes.
some kind of currency needs to be added (since you cant find forum gold in the game). wellables could be some kind of currency if you could sell them.

Nice input... was trying to stay away from some of the obvious things pointed out in many previous posts/threads... and you are correct, they need attention.

I did not make my post very clear if this has to be asked. Was referring to a new area, you don't do questing in normal catacombs, thus, quest items don't have a purpose in normal catacomb runs.

EDIT: like implementing a "Quest Hall", this way, those that just want to cata normally can do so, and those wanting something new to do, uses the "Quest Hall"

Maybe something like this at the start. [even though reward can be used in a normal catacomb later on]
Quest 1: [Feeder Class]
At level one, you have to clear maze before reaching level 4. Reward [3x +1 stat potions] / Quest Item: Weapon of Light [To banish the undead king in next quest]

So -- until you are onto a quest with this specific item it has to either sit on a mule, or gather dust in the vault.

As a side question -- would these items be available for trading??
