This is the best time to start, most gear is at an all time low and climbs are good if you find a group willing to do 1-71 (which several guilds do daily). Should pick up some 80-100 ee items and get back into it and make a decision for yourself from there.

Now is a great time to buy gear at cheap prices because a lot of people left/quit/stopped playing for whatever reasons.

However, not many are playing compared to the past years. It is a difficult time finding public groups. Organized private runs still happen, but those are not as easy to get into.

The days where I saw 50-75+ people online at one time are long gone, usually it's 10-20 at most times of the day, sometimes peaking into the 30s.

A few are holding out for a mysterious big update and hoping that brings people back, others are hoping for a reset as that usually causes an influx, and a few more blame D3 and think that people will come back once they realize what they are missing.

Then again, this is all just my opinion, and whether or not I am entitled to one on here is debatable.

Really only interested in the market side tbh
I used to make a little profit but everythings jacked up on JSP
D2 crashed and D3's market is unstable.

Paul ruined the financial viability of Slasher a long, long time ago.

You can always make profit, just don't expect to find any 5k+ fg items any more

finding isnt the problem... the only problem is that these are the items anyone has and no one needs to upgrade and these few new players that we get cant make any fg to buy gear except for skillables

because your not finding us upgrades.
