what uses dex axe ??? Or is both dex and str good for sword ?

they say 50/50 for axe, half dex half str

all dex for daggers

Swords uses str (75/25) 0.75ee per str or 0.25ee per dex, so str is much better
Axe can use both dex str (50/50) .5ee per str or dex doesnt matter
Clubs also use str (90/10) 0.9ee per str

Concur with what was posted.

Just my 2 cents about some items and starting out.

Barb = Sword, Club & Axe = Strength = more damage.
Samurai - Sword / Longsword (Str) & Dagger (dex) = so having swords on previous runs can be used.
Paladin = excluding Polearm, every other weapon here is str Sword, Club, Axe, Warhammer, Longsword & Battleaxe.

So Sword is convenient, and can be used on Ninja if you get past Monk.
