Please be very careful selling Mutes on HC!

I am buying all mutes 30+ off mp. I am NOT looking at the stats.

If the price is within my budget I buy it. Then I mute it. Rinse and repeat.

I am trying to prevent an accident from happening in the future.

I'm not paying over 10fg for any mute so this might be a good price to set as a min for any trades for good items at cheap prices.

I would guess other muters probably do the same and dont pay attention to the item stats, just item level and # of stats, ie +6 45 charm.

I've been thinking about posting this for a while and felt I better say something b/4 a mistake happens. I'm sure SC is the same so I posted here vs HC Trading.

Thanks,
Chip

hoenstly.. if something were to be posted under your said 10fg limit.. its a free for all on it.. wether its used to skill or not.. a sale is a sale.. i dont understand how ppl bet butt-hurt over the sale of something.. mistake or not.. its the sellers fault for not double checking items listed..

just my opinion.. but im an azzh0le, and typically speak it as it is..

i mean this topic is ???

the only time you'd not look at an item is if you're botting.
If it has 200ee, or high str/dex they appear practically at the top of an item.

I hope there's a less nonsensical reason, but i'm not seeing it

I agree.

These situations are rare when happen.
But in the SC community, almost always, accidentally sold items are generally found on muters. And returned..
You are better off making a trade thread on HC saying what mutes you buy and for how much. And announce there that you wont be inspecting their stats.

But it's very sus to be worried enough about it to post this.
Seems like there's a more nefarious cause to feel obligated to say this.

Your mother-in-law must be in great shape :D

Jokes aside, I rarely pay attention as well to be honest. Could catch a glimpse of the stats sometimes, but since I've never seen anything worthy of keeping I just stopped thinking about it.

Why all the suspicion?

Anyone who does a lot of skilling will notice the lack of attention to every single items you use, often enough I wonder why the damn glyph won't start until I realise it's a magical ee item.

I don't really see the point for this topic but I hardly find it suspicious to claim one doesn't pay attention.

First you must search for the items you're looking to mute on the marketplace.

You then need to, at the very least, hover over them with your mouse to click them into the buy window.

You then need to, at the very least, hover over them to click them into either your vault or muting box.

That is at least twice that you would get a glimpse of the stats on the item. This is also not mentioning that the item would need to be touched into said boxes when on a phone.

I know of several high level muters that may "mindlessly mute" but still look at stats before breaking an item down, even for just a brief second.

This is likely the reason for all the suspicion.

TLDR: The likelihood of you not looking at the stats at any given point while manually purchasing and muting an item seems lower than the likelihood that some form of automation is in place, causing you not to see these things.

Not accusing you of anything Chip, just stating the obvious reasons for the suspicion.
