1. Can you throw multiple items down a single well? Like one defeat monster then do another?

2. How rare are they without using a map?

3. What is the lowest whites people tend to use for wells?

4. What is the most common tactic used to defeat well bosses?

5. Didn't the well used to be just like the shrine as a fixed structure like the shrine many years ago? I seem to recall only needing to find whites not wells in the past.

Well events can create more wells

They only come from emblems. Finding naturally. Or a map having +wells.
You can continuously well item after item (1 at a time)
Untill the well "poofs"
Which means it just disappears.
(That's why well longevity events are cool cuz you can poof a well after 1 item, so having a little extra oomf never hurts)

Most people who well items do it at lvl 59-63 to increase the maximum chances of having higher level double or secondary drops come with it.
But welling closer to character level I find gives best outcome in the items to drop.
But note the monster is tougher lol.
Some switch to Magic Luck before last hit to kill.
Some wear magic luck the whole time
Some don't use magic luck.

I'm out an about but that answers some questions for now

well ik magic luck increases odds for finding overspawns, pretty sure i heard in oirder to find overspawns (20ee higher than max or +5more stats higher than max possible) that u needed to use magic luck other wise best you could get was max/base ee/stats for that tier item etc

My understanding was that ML just increases the rarity, not so much the % roll that is the result.

EDIT:
Per the guide...+ Magic Luck Increases the chances for higher stats on an item drop.

1. Yes. Number of items you can throw in is random. anywhere from 1-150 items. 90% of them are 1-15 items

2. 1 in 100 to 500 squared of the catacombs. I usually hit 4 from level 30 to 71 without additional well event.

3. 15s by muters needing level 15 items. Otherwise 20+

4. Fight well mobs with similar items level and char level. I will do level 15-25 items with a level 20-25 char. Level 45-55 items with a level 55 char. Fighting a level 20 mob at level 70 will give very few side drops.

5. Yes it used to be in town.

Only way to get overspawn items is from ML.
The item you throw in is the first item out and the mobs stats are based on that item. So if you throw in a level 55 fire and it comes out 250ee. The mobs casting attacks will hit very hard with the element fire.
So from that we've theorised the first items stats should already be set when you throw the item in.
The side drops however are from how much ML was used when the mob died.
This was tested using 0 ML on throwing item in and killed the boss with 35 ML and only got overspawns on side drops.

So the general strategy is to throw the item in with as much ML as possible, then kill it with as much ML as you can.
Personally I usually use melee class, so will throw the item in with ML wep/charm/armor. Then swap to ee weapon and kill with that gear. If its a particularly tough mob then change armor too

#1: As long as the well does not disappear, you can drop as many whites into it.

#2: Rarity of finding a Well in a catacomb is Fickle, it is also dependent on the catacomb size (Map is a different story). I have found on occasions exploring catacombs from level 1 to 15 I come across heaps of Wells, and yet I have also had the opposite and only found 1 Well clearing catacombs up to level 70 starting from level 1. (Sporadic)

#3: Everyone is different, I well Tier III / IV / V / VI + based on my character level close to the Tier level for prof gain, excluding prof gain, I personally will Well Tier VI / VIII / X / XII & XIV, however that is just being outrageous, so level 25+ would be my consensus.

#4: Solo / Group / Magic Luck items etc??? If I have ML gear, I would equip all, drop white item into Well, attack once, switch to EE gear, whittle down the monsters hit points (without killing it), switch to ML gear and kill it.

#5: The Well used to be in town, you did not have to hunt/find a well, also there was the old "chaining" while welling items that increased the "Quality" of the item that dropped from the kill(s).

Note: Bigheaded has pretty much been correct in his post also.
