i had like 15 ls softcore chars 10 years ago too. Now i deleted some because i didn’t want to pay for the name change fee and now i got the same message than you.

I also contacted d2jsp support about this but unfortunately received no response

if i could i would pay this fee to get my chars back

In my opinion it's also a bit unfair if you don't know that anything has changed over the years but it is what it is

easy explanation:

it used to be 16 chars total (sc + hc)

it was changed to 8 chars per core.

so if you had 16 sc chars you keep them. but if you for example delete one char, you cant create another sc char anymore. only 1 hc char.
you can create antoher sc char when you have 7 or less sc chars left.

Yes, I agree with you. The best thing would be if they changed it again like they did in the beginning. xD

actually a reason would be to try and get new or old people to play both cores

A lot of things about this game are unfair. Like when other people get reporting for botting with proof but nothing gets done just part of the deal I guess.
