the main point is that it gets more difficult each prof level you go up. getting from 0->1 is only 1000 prof whilst 10->11 is 11000 prof.

For skilling
Muting/suff'ing/glyphing will also have a soft cap seeing items finish at unique (12 stats on the same item) level 55's.
Fishing theoretically isn't capped whilst cooking will be.

For standard weapons/casting
You won't get prof for fighting mobs lower than your prof level, for example i have 17 in daggers, so if i'm using a dagger and killing level 10 mobs i get 0 prof from them until i get to level 17.
There again isn't really a cap seeing you could attempt to fight level 100+ mobs, but 30 is usually as far as you're going to get.

can see how high people have taken them at this leaderboard:

Topic title: What's The Max Proficiency Levels?

and your question... over two decades, how many people have reached Rank 70+ in a weapon, charm or skill?

Monster levels increase because of updates, however, no one knows the % chance to gain a prof point after level 71 with a rank of 70 (if any).

The game mechanics are not released, and only Paul and the designers know the calculations to answer.

Guessing Rank 70 is the highest, considering that you do NOT gain any prof points unless you are level 71. To explain... if your Rank is 20, you do not gain any prof points unless you are level 21+ ... not sure if this is the same for skillers though.

The ladder is really good at showing the current precedent.

Otherwise we don't know.
I've always been curious if they could reach triple digits but never cared about profs till I was recently shamed for it haha.
Now I'm working on em a little.
But I don't think we will even know till someone surpasses 99 prof in something

Was going to correct it as well. Not very often at all when Big Head is wrong.
