However, I did not see other players failing Master Quests if they were in the same group, so maybe a solo player.

Well, let me see if I can enter the catacomb? The answer is no... frozen with multitudes of 1006's. after I went and cooked dinner and ate it to come back to this. :D

Solo? Group? Hardcore? Softcore?

If solo on both cores and in a Hardcore group... tough luck if Softcore reset, that is because it effects BOTH cores. :P
