Well the title is trying to be "Politically Correct" by using "Person" instead of "Man". Dang, don't want to step on anybody's feet now do I?

Okay, the topic. How many of you in real life have come across a family member or other person that has said something to the effect of;

"I remember the days when you had to walk or ride a cow/horse to get to the township..."
"I remember the days when a Penny could buy you five(5) lollipops or a cola..."

etc ... so, as an "Old Person" (player of Ladder Slasher) I will start US (yes you other Old People of Ladder Slasher) OFF:

"I remember the days when;"

You could not exit the catacomb to shrine items and re-enter it. When you left the catacomb (solo or group), the catacomb reset to a new one, and if you were in the group, the whole group members were thrown out. Oh, if you died in the catacomb, the same thing would happen, start the catacomb from scratch.

As a solo player I could enter a catacomb and have from one(1) up to nine(9) monsters spawn. Now that was fucking awesome, especially when playing Hardcore with self found gear.

You had to have a "Bridging System" with another player so that you can have Higher level characters in your group and there wasn't an experience/drop rate cap (driver based say level 15 and highest character level 70+ as backup).

The catacomb Mini Map went OFF SCREEN and you actually felt like you were in an actual maze. Note, the mini map has been capped now.

All charms mana cost was double of what it is now.
___________

Okay, now the comments from me did not include the typical things like a Well in town or the "Chain" or how there wasn't a cap on Prof gain per wave etc. Hope others can share their moments like how Dexterity items were the bees knees because of ???

Normally a game should have catch up mechanics so newer players can reach similar levels if they put in more time, in ls if you played earlier you can have the same armor and charm all the way to mq, have double the characters etc etc no wonder there's 30 ppl playing

Pretty sure charms didn't Cost more.

However Intel didn't retroactively didn't add more mana.

So at level 70 adding 1 point of Intel then would give 1 mana and 1 more each level up whilst now you would get + 71 mana.

Hence the reason with this thread, you are not an old LS player as you can not even know how much the mana cost of casting the charms were, or when they made changes to it, including how you know that the mana pool increase per level was changed (this also included Vitality for Hit points)

But hey, like I stated, old person antics ... were you around when you could enter a catacomb solo and have from 1 to 9 monster spawn? No? then give your story of what you remember and what has changed in your experience as a middle aged player of Ladder Slasher.

I like the stories and the antics that come with it.

"I remember the days when;"

You were fishing in the Pond, you would randomly get a Monster spawn... yup, you actually fished up a Monster.
You would come across a Treasure Chest, and it was a Trap and a Monster would pop out of it.

DAMN, why did they change this. It would be way more fun that just sitting around a pond fishing, or even in a Well fishing and you get a monster Spawn of the same Tier level of a white item based on the character level etc (well if you are level 20 fishing in a Well, the Monster Spawned would be like throwing in a Tier VII white item into it.)

EDIT: or you are fishing in a Well at level 1, and the monster you fished up was the same as you throwing in a Tier III white item... OH Hell ya, maybe insta kill your character with one hit fishing. mao ... hate/die Rex.

So you DO remember that the mana cost of charms were higher than they are now???

So you think your joining date makes you an OLDER ladder slasher player than myself or 1 year? So when did you start playing LS actively?

Did you change your username? Have you posted in my 2009 suggestions about Ladder Slasher, Did you realize that Mirror Maze wasn't an Objective when I posted a suggestion about "Doppleganger" characters etc. Actually, you were never around during those suggestions playing Ladder Slasher when I was constantly active, where before I even did my first Master Quest, I reached Rank 10 in Swords and above rank 5 in other areas... think I was like Rank 8 in Focus heal... and I deleted my SC character that was in the top 10 Sword ranking table then and also in many of the other ranks (excluding mute, and suff wasn't a thing then) on Softcore that I deleted and devoted myself to Hardcore.

"I remember when"

I was a tanker in a group run (you could not leave the catacomb to shrine other wise you would have to re-start the group again because they all got disbanded) as a Tanker using a level 55 Plate armor only with +43 Vitality and +13 Intelligence and 0% Enhanced Effect with my Barbarian class character and pumping all points into Vitality and using junk damage gear, and also having TWO healers in the group and watching the chat logs when one of the Healers would post "OOM" which means "Out Of Mana" and the second healer would heal up the group until the other healer leveled up and start with Full Mana Pool, and I thanked all the group members inviting me from level one to master quest which took like 4 hours if not more.

So... do you have Old Person stories like this one?

I remember back in the day welling at level 60+ and getting one shot by a fucking level 20 item. Bs LS, fuck you game. FUCK. YOU.

Still bitter about that shit.

I also remember when you had to solo this game to get to MQ and the carry-me group nowadays didn't exist.

That's what made this game so good, EVERYTHING was a competition. Now, its a competiSHIT.
