What is the max proficiency cap per fight? Are there any variables to this?

10. Unless there is an event going on that increases prof cap per fight

yes, this is per wave. regardless of how the wave comes.

keep in mind Objectives like Hack the horde, an bits and pieces count as 1 wave i believe.

Yup

The only thing that increases it should be an event something like this

Bonus Event in progress for 2 days, 23 hours:
+130% Evil Presences
+60% Suffusencing Enhanced Effect
+50% to Proficiency Cap Per Fight
51.52% Faster Glyphing
88.68% Faster Fishing

Just to add in my 2 cents worth here (and I may need to test it out to confirm either one of us). The test will be with Healing during each wave encounter and clearing that wave (killing) each time. As we know... the max 10 prof points are NOT item singular, as in Melee, heal or casting (attack, lightning, fire etc).

Hack n Bits and Swarm spawn a new wave each time, they are not like Slugslider or Gigabee where the monsters spawned are from "Calling for Help" (their initial ability)

Slug n Bee (also the Flower looking mob that calls for help when they have 50% hit points or less) call for help and you have to clear them all from the screen, and maximum of 10 prof points is capped. This includes all melee/cast and heal actions.

Note: I am not debating you Juston, I am just putting in my 2 cents worth, and after I test it out, we can get clarification of this since some of those objectives are wiped out so fast, nobody has even had time to verify it, or even get maximum of 10 prof points.

This was really helpful because I didn't realize it was prof-specific. I was testing to get 10+ Light / 10+ Heal on one well monster and it was not working. :D :D

Much appreciated.

Thanks to all for the info, very helpful.

Bigheaded did some testing on the percent chance to gain a prof point with Melee, his calculation (if I remember correctly) is about 20% (this is done with 100 kills or something to that effect) ... also, Healing profs have a higher % chance to gain a prof point ... around 80% (well that is my take on it).

There are other fundamental things that also effect your prof gain... like your character level and the tier level item you are using and welling Tier items... as an example... you are level 40 and welling Tier III items and killing with a Tier VIII (level 25) sword ... you won't gain a single prof point for that weapon... however, you could be using a Tier III heal type charm, be level 40 and welling any Tier item, even a Tier I item and healing @ level 40... you will gain prof points as long as your Rank is not higher than level 39 at the time you are level 40.
